Lakeview Community League
2011
Intended for players of any age and either gender who
want the flexibility of playing their round any time during the week
during the season.
Description:
A two person team handicap league playing 9
holes once a week for the duration of the season. Participants have the
option of playing their rounds anytime during the week, Sunday through
Saturday, when tee times are available.
The 2011 Season:
Date: Weeks of April 3rd and April 10th:
Community League members are invited to play in this early season,
preseason 2 person Mixed League 18 hole scramble (with partner or other
league member or substitute).
Date: Weeks of May 15th and May 22nd:
-Preseason Community League 18 hole scramble.
The Community League begins the week of May 29th and ends after play the week of August
21st (those returning to
school have the option of playing 18 holes the first two weeks of August
rather than 9 holes each of the first four weeks of August).
The Season:

Community League starts on the last Sunday of
May.

Individual Handicapped Tournament: Weeks of May 29th,
June 5th, 12th and 19th.

Mid season 2 person scramble: Week of June 26th - 9
holes with partner or other league member or substitute

Team Match Play Tournament: Weeks of July 4th, 11th,
18th and 25th

Individual Flighted Tournament: Weeks of July 31st, August
7th, 14th and 21st. Note: Those Summer League
players who are returning to school have the option of playing 18
holes each of the first two weeks of August to complete their season.
Post Season:
September Challenge (All League
event) - 2 person 27 hole handicapped game over a three week period
starting with the week of September 18th; participants may play anytime
during the week of the particular game.
-Scramble: Week of September 18th
-Alternate Shot: Week of September 25th
-Best Ball: Week of October 2nd
Awards & Prizes:
*Season Team and Individual Most Points
*Season Individual Low Average Net Score (individuals
must play in 60% of outings to qualify for prize)
*Season Individual Low Average Gross Score (individuals
must play in 60% of outings to qualify for prize)
*Tournament Champions
*Grand Poobah: team and individual - combination of
regular season and tournament performance
*Hole-in-One
Scoring:
* Individuals play against the field and receive 2
points for each golfer beat, one point for each golfer tied (net score).
* Teams play against the field and receive 2 points for each team beat,
one point for each team tied (net score).
* The sum of each player's net score equals team net score.
* To speed play, individuals should pick up after reaching twice par.
Substitutes, No Shows:
* Substitutes are allowed during regular season play.
Team points earned go to team; individual points earned go to substitute.
* Where there is only one player per team, a ghost substitute will be
used. Ghost substitutes have a handicap of zero and score bogeys on the
first 5 handicap holes. (Suggest you find a sub; sub list will be posted
on bulletin board.)
Fees and Charges: League entry fee: $25 for Summer, per individual
payable 1st day of play.
