Handicap System:

Existing handicaps will be carried over from last season. Handicaps are figured on the average of five previous adjusted scores with the high and low scores removed. The USGA equitable stroke control will be used to figure maximum strokes per hole. Maximum handicap for this league is 20 for men and 25 for women. (See League Notebook for more detailed explanation of handicap calculation.)

New Players note:

New league players must submit five or more 9 hole scores to get a handicap before the season starts (scorecards from previous season okay). For those players submitting fewer than five scores, a score of 35 for men and 36 for women for up to five rounds will be placed in the handicap calculator.

Awards and Prizes:

*Grand Poobah, team and individual: combination of regular season competition plus tournament competition.  (New in 2010)

* Season most points: team and individual.

*Tournament champions.

* Season low average net score: individual (must play in 60% of outings to qualify for this prize).

* Season low average gross score - individual (must play in 60% of outings to qualify for this prize).

* Weekly hole prizes.

Scoring:

* Individuals play against the field and receive 2 points for each golfer beat, and one point for each golfer tied (net score).

* Teams play each other and receive 1 point for each hole won, 1/2 point for each hole tied, and 5 points for low net score.

* Teams whose opponent is a no show play against the course.

* The sum of each player's net score equals team net score.

* To speed play, individuals should pick up after reaching twice par.

Substitutes and No Shows:

* Substitutes are allowed during regular season play. Team points earned go to team; individual points earned go to substitute.

* Where there is only one player per team, a ghost substitute will be used. Ghost substitutes have a handicap of zero and score bogeys on the first 5 handicap holes. (Suggest you find a sub; sub list will be posted on the bulletin board.) League members will find their own sub.

* A team whose opposition does not show will play against the course.

Fees and Charges:

* League entry fee: $35 per individual payable 1st day of play

* Weekly hole prize (optional): $1 per individual paid weekly

Rain solutions

Players have two options:

-First option - complete your round with your opponents starting at 9am the following Monday.

-Second option - arrange with your opponents to come out at sometime any day before the next Thursday's start of play to finish your round with them.

If completing play that was interrupted, start on the tee box of the hole that you did not finish (even if you hit a tee shot and were in the fairway or on the green).
