Lakeview Community League
2008
Intended for players of any age and either
gender who want the flexibility of playing their round any time during the
week during the season.
Description:
A two person team handicap league playing 9 holes once a week for the
duration of the season. Participants have the option of playing
their rounds anytime during the week, Monday through Sunday, when
tee times are available.
The Season:
1.
Regular
Season: Week of May
25th
thru Week of Aug. 10th.

Tournaments:
Individual Tournament (handicapped): Week of June 29 &
July 6
Team Tournament:
Week of Aug. 3 and Aug. 10
Handicap System and Teeing Areas:
Existing
handicaps will be carried over from previous season play.
Handicaps are figured on the average of five previous adjusted
scores with the high and low scores removed.
The new USGA equitable stroke control will be used to figure
maximum strokes per hole. Maximum
handicap for this league is 25 for all players.

Teeing areas for the Community League are as follows:
>Senior Men (50+) and teenage boys play from white
tees;
>Women and children under 12 years of age play
from red tees;
>All others play from the blue tees.
New
Players note:
New
league players must submit five or more 9 hole scores to get a handicap
before the season starts (scorecards from previous season okay).
For those players submitting fewer than five scores, a score of 35
for men and 36 for women for up to five rounds will be placed in the
handicap calculator.
Awards and Prizes:
1.
Season most points: team and individual.
2.
Season low average net score: Female, Male, Senior, Junior (must play in 60% of
events to qualify for
prize.)
3.
Season low average gross score: Female, Male, Senior, Junior
(individuals must play in 60% of events to qualify for
prize).
4.
Tournament champions.
5. Special recognition for most team points
in the following team categories: Parent or Grandparent playing with Child
or Grandchild; Female playing with Male; Female playing with Female; Male
playing with Male; Junior playing with Junior; and Senior playing with
Senior..
Scoring:
1.
Individuals play against the field and receive 2 points for
each golfer beat, one point for each golfer tied (net score).
2.
Teams play against the field and receive 2 points for each
team beat, one point for each team tied (net score).
3.
The sum of each player's net score equals team net score.
4.
To speed play, individuals should pick up after reaching
twice par.
Substitutes, No Shows and Teeing Areas:
1.
Substitutes are allowed during regular season play. Team
points earned go to team; individual points earned go to substitute.
2.
Where there is only one player per team, a ghost substitute
will be used. Ghost substitutes have a handicap of zero and score bogeys
on the first 5 handicap holes. (Suggest you find a sub; sub list will be
posted on bulletin board.)
