Handicap System:
Existing handicaps will be carried over from last season. Handicaps are figured on the
average of five previous adjusted scores with the high and low scores removed. The
USGA equitable stroke control will be used to figure maximum strokes per hole. (See League Notebook for more detailed explanation of
handicap calculation.) Maximum handicap for this league is 20.
New Players note:
New league players must submit five or more 9 hole scores to get a handicap before the
season starts (scorecards from previous season okay). For those players submitting fewer
than five scores, a score of 35 for up to five rounds will be placed in the handicap
calculator.
Scoring:
Individuals and teams play against the field and receive 2 points for each golfer/team
beat, and one point for each golfer/team tied (net score). The sum of each players net score equals team net score.
Substitutes and No Shows:
- Substitutes are allowed during regular season play. Team points earned go to
the team;
individual points earned go to the substitute.
- When only one team member shows for play, a ghost substitute will be used.
Ghost substitutes have a handicap of zero and score bogeys on the first 5
handicap holes. (Suggest you find a sub. Sub list will be posted on bulletin board.)
Fees and Charges:
- League entry fee: $35 per individual payable 1st day of play
- Weekly hole prize (optional): $1 per individual paid weekly
Rain Solutions:
If afternoon and evening league play is disrupted by rain or other
inclement weather conditions, the following goes into effect:
a. players already finished with their rounds -
rounds entered and counted;
b. players who have completed part of their round
- finish their round within the next seven days starting on hole following
last completed hole. Ghost substitutes will be entered until round
is completed;
c. players who have not started their rounds -
play their rounds within the next seven days. Ghost substitutes will
be entered until round is played;
d. hole prizes will not be given out on the
affected date but will be doubled (with each player participating giving a
total of $2) on the following date of play;
e. USGA rules apply and players improperly
completing a scorecard will be disqualified for the event.
